Cookie Policy

Effective September 3, 2026 · applies to byteask.ai and the ByteAsk CLI

The short version

byteask.ai uses strictly necessary cookies only. We set no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and we do no cross-site tracking. There is nothing here for you to opt out of.

Cookies we use

A cookie is a small file a site keeps in your browser. The only cookies this site involves are the ones needed to serve it and keep it up.

  • Strictly necessary: required for the site to load and stay secure. Our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies, such as bot-protection cookies. These cannot be switched off.
  • Session storage: if you dismiss the announcement bar, the site remembers that in your browser for the rest of the session. It holds no identifier and leaves your device only when the tab closes.

What we do not use

No analytics cookies, no advertising or marketing cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no selling of data. We do not build advertising profiles about you.

You can clear cookies and local storage for byteask.ai in your browser at any time.

The CLI

After you sign in, the ByteAsk CLI stores a short-lived authentication token in a local file on your machine. It is not a browser cookie and stays on your device except to authenticate your requests.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
