ByteAsk Challenge Contribution Terms
These terms apply to every pull request, description, link or other material you submit through a ByteAsk challenge form ("Submissions"). ByteAsk, Inc. ("ByteAsk").
1. Licence to ByteAsk
You grant ByteAsk a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid, transferable and sublicensable licence to use, copy, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works from, publish, display, distribute and otherwise exploit your Submissions, in any form and medium, for any purpose, including commercial purposes. This includes product development, demos, marketing, case studies, benchmarks, research, and training and evaluating machine-learning models.
2. Your name and work
ByteAsk may publish, quote and feature your Submissions, your name, GitHub username, public profile picture and the outcome of your pull requests (merged, under review or closed), with or without attribution, in any medium, without further notice or payment.
3. Open-source projects
This licence is in addition to the rights you grant the project you contribute to. It does not change those rights, and you keep whatever ownership you hold, subject to that project's licence and contributor terms.
4. Challenge data
ByteAsk may use information about your participation, including how you used ByteAsk during the challenge, to judge your Submissions, run the challenge and improve ByteAsk.
5. Your promises
Each Submission is your own work, or you have the right to submit it. It follows the licence, contributor terms and AI-use policy of the project it targets. It contains no confidential information, secrets or third-party material you are not allowed to share.
6. No obligation or payment
Submissions are non-confidential. ByteAsk is not required to use, review or credit any Submission. You receive nothing for a Submission beyond any prizes or benefits ByteAsk publishes for the challenge.
7. Waiver
To the extent the law allows, you waive any moral rights in your Submissions as they apply to ByteAsk's use. You also waive any claim against ByteAsk arising from its use of your Submissions under these terms.
8. General
ByteAsk may update these terms; the version in force when you submit applies to that Submission. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
